Perhaps I have mentioned it before, but dagnabit, I've done it again.

The new debit/credit date box can cause confusion. When one clicks an arrow to go to the next month, it changes the month, but, if the current month is December, it does not change the year. This led me to enter a half dozen items to be paid in January 2012, when I meant 2013. My fault, of course, but unnecessary.

This can also lead to unreconciled items buried in past data.

I suggest that a simple change should bring up a flag if a newly entered date for a debit or credit is before the current date. For those that would be put off by this, a simple "Don't show this notice again" check box could be included.

EDit: I see, if you click the forward arrow on the calendar icon, the year does move forward. I am referring to the up/down arrows in the date field (Mo/Day/Year). I'd still like attempts to post an entry to a prior date be flagged.

Your idea for incorporating a warning message for when Dates are set far into the past (or future even) is a good one. Perhaps we'll consider adding that sort of functionality to a future release of the application.
