I like the way Checkbook allows doing things without having to change between keyboard and mouse - tabbing between the fields to do an entry is great. But I have to use the mouse to check the "Check" box in the debit entries for which I have written a check.

Is there a way to have that box check or uncheck itself once one has tabbed to it and presses "return" (or some other key)?

Thanks :-)

By default, checkboxes, and buttons, in general, are skipped when tabbing on macOS - but you can change that. First, go to the Apple () menu at the top left corner of your screen, click System Preferences..., click the Keyboard icon, then click the Shortcuts button at the top of the window. On macOS 10.15 Catalina and later, click the "Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls" checkbox near the bottom of the window. On macOS 10.14 Mojave and earlier, click the "All controls" option near the bottom of the window. Now you can tab to the Check # checkbox in CheckBook, and just about anything else in most applications. To begin interacting - or simulate a click - press the spacebar on your keyboard. How's that work for you there?
