These forums have become pretty much unusable because of the spammers. Can you tighten up the registration requirements to stop them?

It's getting ridiculous now Splasm. I don't even try to read the forums now - just log in once a day, note that every forum has the same spammer name as 'last post', and the 'mark all forums read'. This does of course mean that I may miss important posts.

I appreciate that you probably clean the forums up before U.S. forum members pop in, but from my point of view these are the worst forums I see for spam.

Can't something be done to stop spammers getting in every day?

I do apologize. I try to clean up the forums twice a day. Nighttime cleanup will have to wait until mornings for me. I do need to sleep ;)

The registrations are coming from gmail accounts and generic free mail services, so they are hard to block. They are also successfully entering any Captcha letters and numbers so they appear to be people or just crafty bot software that can now break captcha protection. Forum software is updated and we try to keep up with them the best we can.
