Would love to have an option for an automatic backup of my data file. Right now I do this manually to my iDisk and to my hard drive.

Thanks!

I believe it does this weekly (automatically) and whenever you hit command-S.

If you make a lot of transactions in a single day, you might consider the Command-S option, or just do it as often as you want -- but the app DOES create a backup file automatically.

Look in your_user_name > Library > Application Support > Checkbook 2 folder to see the backups that are there. There's a small manual operation needed (rename) if you want to use one these files in place of the usual accounts.plist file that updates every time you close CB.

Is this what you were asking about?

Right. I do the Command-S thing as well as the manual backup thing before closing the app. I am also aware of the weekly auto backup, but I am wanting something more regular that will auto back up to a place of my choosing as the app closes. A lot of apps I use have this capability and saves time in my workflow.

Thanks!

Considering that you're so obsessive about backups (like me) you should simply be using Time Machine, which will back up everything more often than you'll ever need. Set it and forget it.

I do use Time Machine, but don't have my laptop connected to it all the time (for the obvious reasons).

For those times, I'd just "backup accounts" to a USB flash drive and stick it in my pocket. I can't see where missing a day or two would change my life, since I only have a few entries a day. YMMV.
