While Allan and I talked this over the other day, I fiddled with the steps to duplicate an Entry, my first thought that you only need to press the T key right after the duplicate Entry sheet appears, because the Date should be in focus right off and T tells the date picker to use today's date. Things don't actually play out like that in 2.6.15, though, and I soon realized we'd reversed the order of two pieces of code that lead up to bringing the duplicate Entry sheet on screen, keeping the Date from being in focus by default. The best you can do right now, then, is duplicate an Entry, press the Tab key on your keyboard, then press the T key to get today's date. That little flub will be history in 2.6.16, so when you duplicate an Entry, you can immediately press the T key and you'll get today's date. Until we come up with something with more elegance, you'll get a duplicate of everything, including the date, by default, but you're only a keypress away from the current date when you need that.
On the topic of keypresses in the Date in CheckBook's Entry sheets, try pressing the L key in a date picker and you'll get the last entered date. We're open to adding any other little gems like that, so feel free to throw suggestions our way!
