Currently I use Genius Scan Cloud to scan my credit card and store receipts, deposits etc, and every other important document where I can always find them. If we could optionally attach a file to the transaction, it could help with tracking the documents.

Since I don't write checks, I would use that incrementing check number as a document tracking number and physically write it on each document I want to track, and then upload it to the cloud. Meanwhile the thermal paper receipts fade away and I have everything where I can find them in fast searchable form.

Repurposing the the use of incrementing check number is nothing radical but, the idea of attaching files may radically alter the roadmap of the product and turn it into a document management system like G-Suite, which I also when I want it OCR-searchable in Google Docs.

Of course, whether to store the attachment in the backup is another issue. Maybe an option in preferences.

So far CBP will form part of the financial management side of my DMS-Imaging goal nicely.

What do you think?

Each to his own, of course. I download pdf manuals of stuff I buy, and scan the receipts to pdf. Then I merge the receipt onto the manual pdf and store the file in BOOKS > Manuals. That works for me.

If I scanned all my credit card and store receipts, I'd go mad. But I DO have a filing system for these documents.
