I am a new user; having just bought my first mac and using Checkbook 2.1.1 after YEARS with MSmoney. I chose CB due to its simplicity. I don't need stock updates, online banking, and other features that many folks keep asking for. I really wanted a simple checkbook program to track balances & scheduled bills. However, here is one feature that I would appreciate: I would like to have a split transaction that can have an expense category and a transfer. I would use this for my mortgage payment. The interest is a straight expense, but the principal should be a transfer to reduce a liability account. Now I just have to call it an expense. I also used to split out escrow as a transfer to my escrow account, so later I could pay insurance and taxes from the escrow account. I can live without it, but it sure would make for better tracking of assets and liabilities. Some type of interaction with mobile apps would be nice, but I know costly to develop and support. Thanks for considering.
PS-Just left Southside B'ham this weekend after visiting my son. It was HOT!
