We learned this morning that a bug in macOS 11.5 can cause data loss for the few users out there who keep their CheckBook document on a FAT16 or FAT32 volume, or users who try to create a backup or move their document to a FAT16 or FAT32 volume. Our workaround for this issue is now available in CheckBook and CheckBook Pro 2.6.21. Please let us know if you need anything after the update! |

Its release notes don't mention it, but the macOS 11.6 update resolved the underlying issue with FAT and ExFAT volumes that caused data loss in a wide range of applications, including many of Apple's, on macOS 11.5.x. If you use a thumb drive or external drive with macOS 11 Big Sur, make sure you have macOS 11.6 installed to prevent data loss. |
