I have a checking account and several credit card accounts. All accounts contain the same categories and descriptions. Is there a way to create a report that combines these accounts?

If you're using CheckBook Pro, you can choose the All Accounts option from the top of the Accounts drawer (where Accounts are listed) to combine the accounts, before heading to the Summary section. Supposing you have just the basic CheckBook version, though, you might click the Products button at the top of this webpage, visit the main CheckBook Pro page, and download the Pro trial, to give that feature a try. Should you decide you like it so much you want to upgrade, we can help with that.

Thanks, Allan. I am using Checkbook Pro, and have been very happy with it. I have figured out a lot on my own or with the help of the on line help.

I will give your suggestion a try tomorrow, but might have to follow up to ask "supposed it is just some of the accounts that I want to combine?" This is because some of the accounts are unrelated to my purpose. I'll let you know how it works out.

That's good that you're using CheckBook Pro already—in that case, it'll be easy to locate the All Accounts option. But, if you have accounts that need to be excluded, you'll want to lock those with passwords, temporarily. Just select each account before going to the Account menu at the top of the screen, selecting Edit Account, and clicking the Security button, to add the password protection. You'll then find a Lock Account menu option, when you go back to the Account menu.

As usual, your suggestion to lock unwanted accounts worked! Thanks for your help. Along the way, I figured out some other things on my own, well not entirely, I did use the help screens :D
