There's bound to be an explanation for the freezing and errors you're getting—in other cases that we've seen those sorts of issues, it was something to do with damaged files/CDs being used or, in rarer cases, a faulty plug-in. So, would you be willing to give us a little bit more information, so we can determine what's going on there? At the very least providing the error message code would be a big help, with sending the full error text being an even bigger help. Also, if you're willing, replicate the issue and then send over a System Information report generated just after—this will provide logs of things going on behind-the-scenes when the issue occurs. You can create one of these reports by clicking the Finder icon in your Dock, going to the Go menu at the top of your screen, clicking the Utilities menu item, opening System Information.app (or, System Profiler.app), then going to the File menu and clicking the Save... menu item.
