I tried to import the CDs themselves, but AB balked at the first one with the usual 128 error. However iTunes could play it just fine. So I thought I'd import all the CDs into iTunes, then pull the files out and run them through ABB. However that doesn't seem to work. I get the following error info:
Audiobook Builder 1.5.3
Adding Files
Unable to load data from file
File: /Users/Jody/Desktop/No. 1/7-18 Recommendations.m4a
QuickTime error: -2048
Unable to load data from file
File: /Users/Jody/Desktop/No. 1/7-17 Chapter 22B, Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni.m4a
QuickTime error: -2048

So, is there a solution? The audiobook has 138 files and it would be nice to run them through ABB.

When Audiobook Builder presents a -128 error, it means there was a problem reading the disc that's being imported, usually because the disc is dirty or damaged. iTunes can often handle iffy discs better because of its error correction feature, which forces repeated scans of a damaged area until at least something is pulled off, so you did the right thing by trying the iTunes import. The -2048 error you received later when dragging the files from iTunes into Audiobook Builder can occur for a number of reasons, though. No matter the case, we can surely help with getting everything back up and running smoothly again but we’ll need to gather some additional information to determine exactly what all is going on behind-the-scenes as the errors occur. Could you reproduce the issue and then, just after, generate a System Information that will include some extra background logging? The report can be saved by launching ‘System Information.app’ from Applications/Utilities and then choosing ‘Save...’ from the File menu at the top of the screen. Send the saved report over to us at support@splasm.com and we'll have a look.
