I was doing some tests to see how the Build options affected audio quality and I noticed that the file size for "Normal" and "Low" were identical and both show up in iTunes as 64kbps bit rate. The audiobook I'm created was made entirely from CD Imports directly into ABB. I played around with some other Bit and sample rates (e.g. 48/48) and still the file size was the same. What's going on?

You might check to see that the Pass Through option is not checked, or else your project will always end up with the same bit-rate as your original files. With Pass through selected Audiobook Builder will ignore the selected Quality in favor of simply joining your Project's audio data without re-encoding.
