When I add my subtitles I choose to encode in "original encoding" the avi-file is saved in .mov

Is it possible to save it in avi ?

It's not possible for ViddyUp! to save to an AVI container. "Original Encoding" preserves the original video and audio encoding but places the data into a QuickTime MOV container so that it becomes compatible with iTunes and the miscellaneous QuickTime-specific features in ViddyUp!, ie. subtitles, which are stored in a separate video track above the original video track(s).
