using flip for mac and viddy up I was able to use wmv files to create mp4's. Now I can not create them using wmv files- as I get the following error message viddy up could not load the movie file. The file does not appear to contain at least one video track. If I use a mov file everything works and I can create mp4's or apple tv.. Currently I am using viddy up 1.8.4---quicktime pro 7.6.6 and flip for mac 2.3.4.1.. Previous this was no problem and I could convert wmv files to mp4's.. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Yes, there is a workaround. Due to some changes in flip4mac and how they load data, there is a change you need to make in the flip4mac preference pane in your system preferences. Once you click on their preference pane, click on the 'Player' tab, and then click on the advanced button. in this window, hit the plus button at the bottom and add ViddyUp! as one of the applications to load files completely into. Click OK after you see ViddyUp! on the list and close your system preferences. You may need to close any media applications as well, and then try relaunching ViddyUp! and trying your video again.
