Powerfully simple personal finance manager for macOS
"Where does all my money go?" A paper check register can't categorize your transactions or report cash flow over time, and it'll never balance itself. Medieval torture devices like Quicken® are so full of features you don't need that they're actually painful to use. What you really need is a friendly personal finance tool that gets the basics just right and keeps things simple. That's where we come in.
Introducing CheckBook 2, your powerfully simple personal finance manager.
More than you'd expect from your average personal finance manager.
Find Your Entries
Search options help you find whatever you're looking for and customize your workflow. It's a breeze to show transactions with a specific category or amount, to see everything for last month or a custom date range, or to hide all but your unreconciled transactions.
Reconcile to the Penny
Balance your Accounts at will with a streamlined reconciliation workflow. Enter your statement ending balance, mark transactions as cleared, whittle your unreconciled total down to zero, and you're done.
Schedules your way
Second and fourth Wednesday of every month? Not a problem. Third Sunday of every other month? Why not? If you can imagine it, you can schedule it.
Track cash flow over time with customizable reports so you can see where your money came from and where it's going. View your reports onscreen, print to paper, or create a PDF to archive or share.
Transfer Between Accounts
Debit from one account and deposit into another without creating two separate transactions. Changes in one account automatically show up in the other.
Work in Your Favorite Currencies
Each account has its own currency and every document has a base currency so your reports and totals just make sense.
Bring on the Data
Import just about anything.
Migrate from Quicken®
Create documents from Quicken for Mac 2015 or later, Quicken Essentials for Mac, or QIF/QMTF documents exported from older versions of Quicken or other personal finance managers and CheckBook will set up your accounts for you.
Import the kitchen sink
Strong support for OFX, QFX, QIF, CSV, and Text means you and your bank will surely speak the same language.

Sooooo much better than Quicken for Mac. Worth every penny of the $15 download. Works seemlessly and pretty easy to set up. Reconcile feature works well too. Highly recommended!

I have been using Quicken since 1996... more than 25 years of data I use daily. I was terrified of moving and losing all that history. But all I did was export out of Quicken and into CheckBook. Everything came over to the penny, and I love how simple CheckBook is... especially the search feature! -DN

Great little program for budgeting

I purchased this program to replace Quicken 2007 (which is not 64bit compatible). For what I use it for, tracking expenses, it's just about perfect (and a bargain to boot). Quick, easy entry and much simpler to reconcile than what I was using before. Dec 2019 Update: I've been using this for over a year and I couldn't be happier. Great Program. Update Oct 2021 - Thanks for the default font options. This program is perfect for anyone who needs to keep a budget without all the pointless Bank account tie ins. Thanks again. Update May 2022 - This program just keeps getting better with every update (no charge). Very impressed.
