When you need to remove, or crop, a portion of each video's frame, such as unnecessary black borders in some television recordings, Podner provides several cropping options: • 4:3 4:3 will automatically crop the selected video, usually by removing equal parts of the image from the left and right sides, so the final output will completely fill your iPod's display. This is most useful when converting widescreen source material. • Constrained 4:3 Closely related to the regular 4:3 option, except you can resize the cropping rectangle to a smaller portion of the source material. The final output will be scaled to fill the selected Encoding's resolution, ie. if your cropping rectangle is 160x120 and you have selected an Encoding that outputs at 320x240, the final output will be scaled to 320x240. • Manual Allows you to define a cropping rectangle for any portion of the source material - regardless of aspect ratio. The final output will be scaled to fill the selected Encoding's resolution, ie. if your cropping rectangle is 160x80 and you have selected an Encoding that outputs at 320x240, the final output will be scaled to 320x160. To crop a video clip or movie file: 1. While configuring the encoding process, select a cropping option from the Crop button or the Video menu's Crop submenu. |
