Podner Help

Batch Processing

Podner allows you to set up a batch of movie files to process all at once. Batch processing makes it easy for Podner to work unattended for several hours or more.

To enter Batch Processing mode:

1. Drag two or more movie files to the Podner window.

2. If Podner can work with your movie files, the Podner window will expand to reveal the first movie, the usual options for reformatting the movie, and the Batch drawer. The Batch drawer will show you the movie files you dragged to the Podner window.

Notes

• In the Batch drawer you can select each movie individually, or hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and select a group of movies.

• As you make your selections in the Batch drawer, you will see the selected movies' options appear in the main Podner window. For single files, you can change the options as usual. For groups of files, you will find that all of the options are disabled until you click in the checkbox next to each option. Then, while your selection remains the same, you will be able to change the enabled options. Each change you make will apply to all of the files in the current selection.

• There are two options that cannot be changed for groups of movie files: Poster Frame and Name. If you need to adjust these, you can select each file individually so that the options become available.

• The status display at the bottom of the Batch drawer tells you how many files are pending and the total length of those files. This is not an estimate of how long it will take to encode the batch.

• While Podner processes your movies, you will see the familiar status message and progress bar. When Podner completes each movie, it will be moved to the bottom of the queue. Movies that processed correctly will have a checkmark symbol on their preview thumbnail. Movies that processed incorrectly will have an exclamation mark symbol.

• Once a movie is correctly processed you will not be able to select it in the Batch drawer. To clean up these processed files after a batch is complete you can use the Clean button at the bottom left corner of the Batch drawer.
