Deinterlace DV

DV, which is usually captured from digital camcorders, is typically interlaced. When you play these videos on your Mac you might notice that fast-moving objects have horizontal black lines around their edges. This effect isn't easy to spot when the video is played on most CRT television sets but it can really affect quality when the video is converted to another format for viewing on Macs or iPods. Fortunately, Podner can compensate and preserve the source material's image quality. If you notice lower quality when processing your DV or iMovie projects, try enabling the Deinterlace DV option in Podner's preferences. This option will increase the amount of time it takes to process DV, but the quality of the results can be dramatically improved.

To enable or disable DV deinterlacing:

1. Select the "Preferences" menu item inside the Podner menu at the top left of the screen. The Podner Preferences sheet will appear.

2. Select the Videos tab at the top of the Preferences sheet.

3. At the bottom of the Preferences sheet you will see the Deinterlace DV option.

4. Confirm your changes by pressing the OK button at the bottom right of the Preferences sheet.
