Don't know if this has been mentioned before or not but I'd like to see an option in CheckBook Pro to perform an automatic file backup on exit. This would be done in the background without any user intervention. Selecting the auto-backup option would automatically overwrite the existing backup file.

Thanks ........

At this time, CheckBook Pro automatically saves Backups about once a week. We could certainly look into offering an alternate option like you're looking for, though.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Now that I've switched to the Mac App Store version of Checkbook Pro, I have my data stored in iCloud. Is this data also backed up weekly, & if so, what directory is it stored in?

No matter where your main data file is stored, whether in iCloud or on your internal drive, CheckBook Pro still Backups the data about once a week to a specific location on your hard-drive that doesn't change. For you using Pro on Mountain Lion, that location is within your hidden User Library here: Containers/com.splasm.checkbookpro2/Data/Library/Application Support/Splasm Software, Inc./CheckBook 2

O.K. I bought the AppStore version, and I moved the file to iCloud. What happens to the version I had on my hard drive now? It's gone? So if I want a dedicated backup, I must File>Backup... and save to a place other than documents??

On your hard-drive, you can find your iCloud documents tucked away in the Mobile Documents folder that resides in your User Library. Also, you can indeed still save additional Backups to anywhere anytime using the Backup option under the File menu.
