Post subject:  Importing accounts from Quicken 2007

This is the email response I received from Randy at Splasm Support:
CheckBook cannot directly import Quicken's proprietary data format. You will need to first export your data using Quicken 2007 into one of the following formats: QIF, OFX, QFX, CSV or Tabbed Text. You can then import one of those standard file formats into CheckBook. This is a necessary step if you want to migrate away from Intuit products because other applications cannot read Quicken data files directly.

Works like this: Open Quicken. Go File>Export>To QIF and save. If you have multiple accounts: File>Export>Selected Items to QIF. The Export window will open. In the bottom pull-down select "selected accounts." A window will open listing your accounts. Click a check mark on the one you want to transfer. Then click Export (in the Export window) and save the file. Open Checkbook. Go File>Import>QIF. Select the Quicken .qif file and click Import. Click OK in the Import Options window and your account should be transferred. Click OK and you can then rename the account if you want.
