Hi
I would appreciate the ability to post scheduled entries before set date.
Monthly payments & a fortnightly salary don't match up well. It would be really handy to see how much is going to be left in the account to live on before the next salary entry :-)

Hello,

I was just about to post a new topic to ask if Budgeting could be considered for future development. Is this what you are asking for Sue?

I want to see in advance my income and expenditure (Direct debits and intended spending), and then have CheckBook calculate if I am in budget ( a detailed report would be very helpful). This would then keep me living within budget..

Scheduled transaction would not need to be committed (unless due). and A means to enter planned spending (Goceries, fuel) is needed but will not be committed to transactions. CheckBook should then be able to calculate the sums and generate a report.

I will be interested in what the chief bankers at Splasm have to say about this. Having used CheckBook for several months, Budgeting seems the only thing absent, I am currently doing this in Mariner Calc, which seems daft when I have CheckBook sitting on my desktop with most of the data required.

Regards,

hardcat

Not budgeting as such but like you I have a spreadsheet running too, Neo Office rather than Mariner. There are just some things spreadsheets do better. :-)

I have most regular payments set up with my bank.
Monthly Power, Telephone & Insurance policies via direct debit.
Fortnightly transfers to savings and other accounts from the main a/c the salary gets deposited in.
All salaries, wages, benefits, pensions etc are direct credited to bank accounts here in NZ. No cheques to cash or bank.

Would just really like to be able to post any scheduled payments due before the next fortnightly salary date.

Must be difficult writing the software though, everyone runs their budgets in different ways and although I have no need for cheques, checkbook suits me well.

We've beat this to a pulp on the other CB board:

Let's hope it's included soon!

Hi B
I think I have asked for something similar in the same forum. Which would be better. Let me know.
Cheers

Hi
I would still appreciate the ability to post scheduled entries before set date.
Monthly payments & a fortnightly salary don't match up well. It would be really handy to see how much is going to be left in the account to live on before the next salary entry.

Still waiting patiently
