I keep my checkbook at my main house on my main G5 iMac. I also have a second home, and another G5 iMac. I have put my checkbook app and the home folder files on a CF card which I plan to carry back and forth. I plan to install my app and files on the 2nd machine, so I can use it if I'm "there" for several days or more, then carry the new files back on my return. Is this all I need to do? or would it just be easier to email myself the .plist file before I go from one place to another?

Whichever's easiest for getting the Accounts.plist back and forth. That's the file that needs to go between the two - once you have the CheckBook Preferences (or just enter your serial number) on the other Mac you're all set to move the data.
