I am using Checkbook 2.5.7 and have encountered a strange behavior when generating reports in the Summary tab. For reports to cover a date period, I enter a start date (9/1/16) and end date (9/30/16) and the Summary sets those dates to 9/1/0016 and 9/30/0016, respectively. This generates a false report as there are no entries for these dates. I have set the date format in Preferences to "9/8/16." Even if I set the dates with 4 digit years, the report runs properly once, but the Summary settings revert to "0016" after running the report. This seems like really bizarre behavior and is not new. It's been like this for a long time (I've just got around to asking about it). Why doesn't the Summary function treat dates per the preferences setting? Surely this isn't how it's supposed to work?

Hi there!

The wackiness you see there should've been fixed up in CheckBook 2.5.8 and later, when we made sure 4-digit years were used properly. We'll likely switch those date fields to date pickers, like in the Entry sheets, before too long.

You may not know there's an update because of an issue with the update checking code in version 2.5.7 and earlier. Visit http://www.splasm.com/checkbook/update.html if you have CheckBook with the green pen in its icon or http://www.splasm.com/checkbookpro/update.html if you have CheckBook Pro with the blue pen in its icon and grab the update to get things working the way you'd expect.
