Just gave in and did the El Cap upgrade. :-(
Now when I enter a debit or deposit in Checkbook 2.2.1, after I enter the $$$.cc amount and move to any field below that on the form, including "OK", the $$$ amount goes to 0.00.

(seems to also happen when I use a "split", though I don't usually use that functionality, so am not real familiar with that.)

Help ?

HELP !?! It is kind of worthless if I cannot enter debits or credits.

UPDATE:
resolved
(1) a bug in my version of checkbook that stopped it from automatically finding the latest version &
(2) bugs that broke it under El Cap.

Asked directly to tech support, instead of this forum, and got a quick reply.

Manually downloaded the latest version. Works now.

Good support from tech support.

It may be no consolation, but I'm not having any problems. Are you using the latest version of CheckBook? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
