Writing about the wife's account record keeping using CBPro 2.5.4 ( Mac OS Maverick ).

When she first started many CBPro versions ago she set up "Accounts" that included Checking (Regular and Ultra), Savings (Regular and Ultra). Therefore when she opens the "Accounts" she can view all the transactions in those accounts and accordingly reconcile them to the Bank Statements.

Very recently she needed to open a TSFA (TaxSavings account) but was unable to include it in the "Accounts" so she created a separate account named "TSFA".

Then she allowed me to set up(include) a special savings account for a special dream purchase.

However she really wants all the accounts to be part of her "Accounts" so that she can see all the money in one place and not have to open up "Accounts" and then open up "TSFA" and then my "Dreamzz" account.

Unfortunately, we are unable to figure out on our own how to do this.

Now as a Mac program this should be intuitive but not with CheckBook Pro 2.5.4. It seems to be convoluted in how it saves and how it backs up and how to create accounts within accounts (if that's even possible).

We really need your help and guidance here please.

No, that doesn't solve the problem because it does not show our recently created special TSFA account nor my Dreamzz account.

If your Dreamzz Account doesn't show up under All Accounts, it's likely inside a separate Accounts file. To create an Account within the existing file, choose 'New Account...' from the Account menu at the top of the screen.

OK so she can do that in the future however right now how does she get those two accounts moved into the "ALL" accounts ? Please don't say erase those 2 accounts and start again.

Please help MRS Magoo since she is not too happy with the program ( or MrMagoo ) these days and threatens to revert back to the original version she used many versions ago..

In all previous versions, just like in the current one, the creation of a new Account within an Accounts file is accomplished by choosing 'New Account...' from the Account menu, so reverting back won't make a difference here. At this point, there's just the option of exporting the data out and then back into new Accounts that have been added to the original file. For this, open one of the newer Accounts, choose 'Export > Text...' from the File menu, switch back to the original file, create the new Account, and then use 'Import > Text or CSV...' to begin bringing everything in. To view a full walkthrough of the Text Import process (which can be a tad bit tricky, when it comes to getting the Data Layout settings perfect), check out this video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfsJjAic3-A
