When I bought new checks, the number on the new checks are lower than my previous set of checks. How to I reset the software automatic check numbering system?

I believe that, once you manually enter a check number, the auto-numbering will reset and start from there. the first time you entered a check, that's how it started, right?

Each check I write, I change the entry to reflect the check that I'm writing. This has never resulted in resetting the automatic numbering.

Well, I tested mine. I'm using CBP v2.5.5. Indeed, as I suspected, entering a new check number resets the auto-numbering base. Perhaps there's a version conflict. You might try unchecking check numbering in Preferences, entering a new check number and then recheck auto numbering.

For the automatic numbering, the application actually looks for the highest availability beyond what’s already been used in the Account and uses that in the Check number field. So, even manually putting in a previously-used low number won't cause things to pick up from there if there's higher-numbered items remaining. The capability for triggering a complete reset for the automatic Check numbering system isn't there but we're considering providing that option in a future version.
