I've checked the box and selected it, but this screen comes up whenever I open CB.
If it helps, I had to reset my iCloud yesterday, so that's probably where this came from.

File comment: One does show up in iCloud, though, but I can't open it (spinning pizza of death)

In the first screenshot, there's a bug in how we handle things on Mavericks that prevents CheckBook Pro from properly working with the iCloud file dialog. When iCloud is enabled, Apple replaces the standard open file dialog with the iCloud dialog. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite behave according to Apple's documentation (it runs asynchronously instead of blocking until the dialog is dismissed). We created a workaround for that, but it broke in Mavericks. So right now, you'll get a spinning rainbow when you try to open a file in that window with iCloud enabled. The fix is already done and will be in the next update to CheckBook Pro, 2.5.6. Open Recent and double-clicking/dragging a document icon from the Finder still work fine.

The second screenshot is about conflicts that can arise when storing a document in iCloud...but that sheet shouldn't appear in normal use. It's also very peculiar that it only shows a single conflict to choose from. To be safe, back up your current document, and the next time the sheet appears, go ahead and check off the only version and click the Keep button. If the sheet appears again at some point soon afterward, or if you've already tried this idea, let us know and we'll dig in and figure it out with you.

I'm backed up thoroughly. Every time i go to open the app, i have to double click, a single click on the dock wont open it. And every time i open it, i get the screen, even though i select and "save"

A single click on the CheckBook Pro Dock icon won't open the app at all, but a double-click does? We've never seen that happen, and I'm not sure how it could happen. The Dock is responsible for launching the app in response to a single click. I don't know how more than one click could make a difference. Does the icon begin to bounce with a single click?

When you say you select and "save", do you mean you're putting a checkmark next to the only conflict version and clicking the Keep button?

OK I retract that. Single click opens it. Yes, I check the box and save. If I don't check the box and save, it doesn't open. The app stays open, but not the account. If I click "Open..." it goes to iCloud and spins. "Open Recent" opens it.

Like I said, this started after I reset iCloud.

Phew. The Dock issue had us a little worried :).

Are the date and time changing next to the document icon each time the "conflict resolution" sheet appears? I also wonder if turning off iCloud's Documents & Data, then turning it back on, might help.

O.K. I unchecked documents and data, and then re-checked it.

Opening CBP gave me the "unable to create file", but now it all seems to work. That is, I don't get that message any more (only the first time) The time in iCloud is always current (always was, too). Am I now good? The CB file still appears in iCloud's window in System Preferences.

Did the "Unable to create file" message only show up right after playing with iCloud's Documents & Data setting, but not since then? If so, it's possible the database (Accounts.db) inside the document was still being synchronized from iCloud. If it's working properly now I'd say you're all set.

Yes. It seems stable now. Thanks for your help.

Now the next question is... never mind.
