I just got a MacBook for Christmas. I used to use Microsoft Money many years ago. And, I thought that I would use Quicken for the Mac. But, I've seen so many negative reviews that I decided to start looking for other alternatives

I'd like to know if your application will allow me to:

1) Enter checkbook transactions (some checks but mainly debit card entries)

2) transfer money between my accounts as well as to other accounts

3) allow me to set up a budget (both monthly and yearly)

4) optionally download and reconcile transactions from my bank

Thanks

Hello!

Yes to questions #1, #2, and #4. And yes to negative reviews of Quicken :).

Unfortunately, to answer #3, CheckBook doesn't have a dedicated budgeting feature. You can get subtotals for your Categories over a specific date range, though. That gives you a way to total cash flow for Categories you might think of as simple budgets. You'd need to know how much you intend to spend in those Categories and compare from there.

I hope that helps. Have a great new year!

Good evening,
I am currently evaluating replacement of Quicken 2015 for Mac.
I wanted to determine if there has been any progress or plans towards implementing a budgeting feature in CheckBook Pro?

Blessings
