I've been using CheckBookPro on a MacBook Air running OSX Mavericks without any problems. I originally purchased the app via the Apple App store last year and with the various updates, it's currently on v2.5.5.

I recently downloaded and installed it on a new iMac from the APP store and the program seems to load okay at first, but becomes unresponsive when I open my accounts file. I copied my "accounts.cbaccounts" and "accounts.plist" files onto a flash drive from my MacBook Air and placed them in the documents folder on my iMac.

When I tried to open the file from CheckBookPro, the file opens and I can see all of my accounts, but then the program becomes unresponsive. I get the infinite spinning beach ball and have to force quit the program.

I'd appreciate any help in trying to get this problem fixed.

Thanks,
road66warrior

Update:
I think I may have found a workaround, but I'm still not sure what could have caused my original problem. I wasn't able to open the "accounts.cbaccounts" file from within CBP without experiencing the "spinning beach ball". However when I closed CBP and then went into my documents folder and just "double clicked" on that file, it opened in CBP and everything seems to be working fine now.

What you were seeing is an issue with using the Open panel in the App Store copy of CheckBook (Pro) on Mavericks. Basically, Apple made a slight change in the OS's handling of Open panels and the potential for that change to cause the hang-ups only just got brought to our attention. We've got an update ready that takes care of things, though, and that should be available in the coming weeks. Stick to using your workaround for now and once the next update is installed, you'll be able to go back to using the Open panel.

Am having the same issue after moving my data file, which was previously on DropBox to share between my desktop and laptop.

Moved the data file to iCloud and could not get it to open. Moved back to DropBox, same issue. Eventually got it to open without handing on desktop and use 'move' menu item to move to iCloud, but could not open on my laptop.

Have now resolved by going to the iCloud data folder and opening the data file directly.

Thought I'd somehow corrupted my data file. Was a bit worrying, so glad to hear a fix is coming.
