As an old post by Randy suggested, I tried moving these docs to move accounts to my new cMBP...
Quote:
/Users/[your username here]/Library/Application Support/CheckBook 2/
/Users/[your username here]/Library/Preferences/Splasm/

Bu the Library folder does not exist in my user folder in Mountain Lion, though it does of course in my old MBP, a six year old machine with OSX 10.4.11...

So how to do it...?

Finder: hold down option key > Go > Library.
The User library is hidden in ML.
If you really want it back on the finder side bar > when library is open the library icon is on the top of the finder window > Option drag it to the sidebar.

Actually did some googling and found the same thing, and thanks...

BUT, the naming / line up / locations / groupings of things splasm in the OSX 10.8 library are different from the below, so again it becomes for me, coming from OSX 10.4 which the below does duplicate, how..?

/Users/[your username here]/Library/Application Support/CheckBook 2/
/Users/[your username here]/Library/Preferences/Splasm/

By default, the Accounts data file is indeed stored deep within the hidden User Library folder when running Lion or Mountain Lion, but now it's at the following path: /Users/[your username here]/Library/Application Support/Splasm Software, Inc./CheckBook2

An alternate method for attaining a copy of your Accounts data file is to choose 'Backup Accounts...' from the File menu. The file can then be saved anywhere you like.

Also, when you get an Accounts data file copied over to another computer, a restore process can be performed from within CheckBook (Pro) in order to get the data into the application. For that, choose 'Preferences…' from the CheckBook menu. Then, enter the Advanced section of the Preferences and hit Restore Accounts, navigate to the file, select it, and hit Restore.

When you buy a new Mac, doesn't it all move in automatically when you run Migration Assistant?

If you want to do it that way... I'm doing a very selective and clean setup with the new one... six years with the old one, it has lots of goofy and old stuff and bits and pieces etc on it... migration assistant doesn't let you select except at some very general and basic levels...

And thank you Allan...
