you've got multiple audiobooks you want to get audiobookbuildered. All you gotta do is duplicate the application and each new instance of the app will eat up to one core.

Although it's sad that multicore isn't supported for one single audiobook conversion.

I agree. Though I think the problem is more than just multicore support - the performance kinda sucks just doing one book. I have a new quad core imac and just adding the files is taking forever, despite all the cores sitting around doing nothing. Don't get me wrong, it is a lot faster than my old powermac, but the activity monitor barely twitches - the program is clearly not using all the available resources.

Reviving this old thread. Previously the app was primarily disk bandwidth limited not CPU horsepower limited. The user would not benefit from one instance of the app starting multiple encoding threads because the disk could not r/w the data fast enough. The OS and hardware do a good job of mitigating the bandwidth problem, but fundamentally in the past, there was limited benefit from parallel encoding the source files. However with SATAIII this isn't the case anymore. Hopefully the developer will consider parallel encoding the source files. Maybe have a preference setting for how many files are encoded in parallel. Default to 1 is fine.
