I have made a number of audiobooks with your product, with no problems. Now, however, when I try to import disc 7 of a 15 disc set, while iTunes does get the all of the album information, that same information is not getting to ABB. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

ABB 1.5.3
Mac OSX 10.6.8

Audiobook Builder actually pulls the CD track names and title from the Finder, which gets those from iTunes. Sometimes iTunes seems to have issues relaying the tracks names it grabs from the internet to the name of the CD and track names in the Finder. In some cases, users have reported that a restart can clear up some of this out of sync behavior between the Finder and iTunes.

Well, I have rebooted 3 times and it still does not work. Any other suggestions?

Apple's been notified. It's just a quirk in the older operating system that, I guess, they've chosen to ignore since it's been many years of reports with no updates to correct it. So, yeah, we haven't heard of this issue occurring with Lion, but only time will tell if whatever causes the problems in the Finder is truly fixed...

Well, sin ce Apple isn't willing to fix the problem, why can't ABB starting using Freedb.org, or other organizations like it, as an alternate to iTunes not doing the job?

That's a good suggestion. What you're experiencing is a highly rare occurrence and so it might take some experimentation to figure out if switching to a different online service would even prevent a similarly rare occurrence. We can certainly look in to it, though.

Thanks!

iTunes and the Finder are actually supposed to independently connect to the same database. So, sometimes one or the other will have trouble bringing in the CD or track names but it's not because of issues linking between one or the other.
