I rented a audio book from the library after loading the 7 cd just fine into the builder i got this message on the 8th and 9th CD

Audiobook Builder 1.2.1
Adding Files
Unable to load data from file
File: /Users/christiewinters/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Compilations/Graceling - Kristin Cashore - [Disc 9]/9-01 Chapter 30.m4a
QuickTime error: -2048

So far I only have 7 hours of data in my project and it is set to normal.Anyone know what this error message means?

Are you able to play the file in question within iTunes? does its duration appear correct and play for the said duration? If it plays back correctly, could you send us the file so we could duplicate the issue here?

If the file does not play back in iTunes correctly, there may have been an issue with it when it was imported that created a corrupted or unreadable audio file. You might have to skip that file or attempt to import that CD again. You might want to check for CD damage or clean the CD before another attempt. Let us know what you find out!

I am importing the cd with audiobuilder import option when it got to the 7th cd it crashed. So i tried loading it to itune to see if anything was wrong with the CD. I seems to work fine in itune . So i tried loading it from the file option in audiobuilder i got the message.

I did some reading on the forums here and checked to see if I had the newest version of quick time . I didnt so I updated it. restarted the computer. I reopened the project in audiobuilder was able to load the 8th cd then I got to the 9th cd and it crashed again. I cleaned the CD tried again and Audiobuilder crashed again.

Now I am trying a new project with a differnt set of audio CDs.

I can try and send you the files I am not sure the best way would be to send it?

Thing seems to be working now. What I did.

Deleted all audiobooks builder projects ( encase of corrupted file )
Updated Quick time
Updated Itunes
Changed itune so it doesn't auto import CD > to show CD

So far so good I have made 3 books.

Hi there. I am getting the same error. I have checked, everything is updated and the files play in itunes with correct time displays.

This is the second book where every file didn't work with this error. Thank you for your time!

I'm also seeing this error, although without the 2048 specified:

Audiobook Builder 5.3.8
Adding Files
Unable to load data from file
File: /Users/BA/Import/17 - Weak Forces and the Standard Model.mp3

The file plays fine in QuickTime Player (10.1 - 501.29) and is also imported into iTunes (but the error occurs whether I import from Finder or iTunes).

I would attach the file so you can see that the error is reproducible, but your website does not allow extensions of txt, mp3, dat or blank. Is there another service you would recommend to share the file?

thanks!

Getting the file over to us would be the quickest way for us to figure out exactly what's going on there. If the MP3 is around 10MB in size or so you can attach it to an email to support@splasm.com. Or for a bigger file, we can accept transfers anytime through Skype or Messages/AIM—the user name to use is "splasmsoftware" for either service. Or, if you're on Dropbox, you can upload the file and Share a link to support@splasm.com.

Thanks!
