Hello,

I've tried this software for creating an iPod movie from a Divx movie.

I have the main movie in .avi file and the subtitles in a .srt file.

I can merge the .srt in the movie to create a subtitled output .m4v file without any problems. However my subtitles are in french language, which means they contain international symbols like "é è à ü ô ..." and unfortunately theses symbols are not interpreted by the software which convert them in strange symbols.

Is there any way to solve this ?

This product is awesome for iPod converting, good job.

Our tests with the same symbols came out with the right results. Maybe this is an issue with the text encoding of your files. Do you think you could send over one of the subtitle files that ViddyUp! doesn't work correctly with so we can see what you're seeing there? Please send one to support@splasm.com and we'll take a look as soon as possible. Thanks!

The issue was related to text encoding. So, we implemented a text encoding picker in the subtitle selection dialog in a pre-release build and kasimodem confirmed Windows Latin 1 and Windows Latin 3 allowed the French subtitle file(s) to work correctly. If anyone needs to choose a subtitle file's text encoding before the next official release just let us know and we'll make a pre-release build available.

We released the subtitle text encoding enhancement, allowing users to choose the appropriate text encoding as they select a SubRip subtitle file for the current video clip, as a part of ViddyUp! 1.7.1. Have you tried selecting any of the alternative text encoding options at the bottom of the subtitle file selection window? It will likely require some experimentation on your end since there is no reliable way for ViddyUp! to guess the most appropriate encoding.

Txs. I got it. I bought it. I used it with success.
Only problem: when i convert to h.264 from avi, my Nokia E61 stalls when trying to open the file. Actually it stalls when trying to enter the directory where it is stored. Weird.
I will try to figure out what is happening.
Txs
